Bright Stars 1-0 Sadolin Paints

Sadolin Paints’ miserable start to the Uganda Premier League continued on Tuesday with a 1-0 defeat to Bright Stars at the Champions stadium, Mwererwe.

Self Batte’s 89th minute goal sentenced the Jinja based side to a second straight defeat and the third this season having already lost to Police and SC Villa. The strike meanwhile handed Fred Kajoba’s side their second victory of the campaign.

It had looked like being a frustrating evening for the Kawempe side that had dominated proceedings and threatened a goal for long spells of the game, but Batte’s late strike made sure of the three points, and Sadolin who are yet to find a goal this season were left in their search for first win of the campaign.

Both sides ended the game with two bookings apiece with Victor Aweko and goal scorer Batte yellow carded in the 28th and 90th minute respectively while Isaac Muyagga and Desmond Kyobe picked two for the visitors.

Bright Stars who went into the game placed seventh rose two places above to fifth with eight points while Sadolin sunk to the foot.

Kajoba and his boys are away to highflying Soana in their next league task on Saturday, and Sadolin will be out of action.
