The current Uganda Cranes jersey is now famed for one bold reason – it is the treasured attire that the national team donned as the 38 year old chains of enslavement for failure to make the AFCON finals were finally broken on the September 4, 2016.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president, Moses Magogo maintains the historic feat for the national team will not leave this country particularly the footballing front the same.

Magogo revealed that the current Uganda Cranes jersey will be retired as a new kit is set to be unveiled.

We have got about four companies ready to sponsor our national team kit. After the 2017 finals in Gabon, we shall retire this current kit as it now belongs among the rich history heritage of this country.

Campaign to launch a new national team jersey:

FUFA will soon officially launch a campaign intended to usher in a new national team jersey.

Magogo told the media that the designing process of the jersey is open to the public.

The person with the best design will be adopted and rewarded after being vetted.

The current jersey came into force on April 10, 2014 when the federation launched a fresh re-branded strategy that witnessed a new logo on the national team jersey.

Kawowo Sports has established that the world’s leading kit manufacturers as Adidas, Nike, Errea, Puma, Jooma have expressed interest in taking over the sponsorship of the Uganda Cranes.
