2016 Pool Queen Championship: 24th September

For the second time running in 2016, the Pool Association Of Uganda (PAU ) will host an event on the calendar outside the peripheries of the capital city, Kampala district.

After the successful hosting of the the Easter Cup in Masaka at Club Klein early this year, the second championship of the year, Pool Queen heads back to the same place.

PAU Publicity Michael Mawanda made the confirmation to Kawowo Sports;

We are returning to Club Klein in Masaka for the Pool Queen Championship after the successful Easter Pool open.

The championship holds the highest seeding points and biggest prizes in the ladies category.

The event will take Place on Saturday 24th September 2016 at Club Klein Nyendo Masaka. 

PAU Secretary for Women Affairs Grace Mulindwa expects a lot of competition at the event;

It is not easy to know who will take this year’s Championship because the  high Level competition of recent

64 Ladies are expected to storm Masaka for the event and the winner will walk away with 1 Million Ugandan Shillings, trophy and a crown.

Club Klein through their managing director announced a 3 million sponsorship of the event including transport from Kampala to Masaka for the event from Masaka to Kampala after the champion of for the first interested players to register.

PAU Women seed two, Angella Busingye

Defending champion and challengers:

Angella Busingye seed 2  is the Defending Champion and is one of the expected contenders. 

2014 Champion Vicky Namuyanja is also anticipated to be among  the top challengers together with teammates Jacinta Kajubi.

Betway Anchors Captain Tracy Nambafu is also on her peak and she is one of the supposed surprise packages in this year’s edition.

Ritah Nimusiima, Mourine Tushabe, Sharon Mirembe, two time champion Carlo Kyampaire Kanzira, Club Klein’s Rose Namugerwa are also big names to watch for in The Event.
