Onduparaka Vs SC Villa – Green Light stadium, Arua @ 4.00pm
If it wasn’t for Onduparaka, who knows? Maybe SC Villa would have defended their Uganda Cup trophy.
The two sides met at the round of 32 at Nakivubo and the Caterpillar showed the defending champions then the exit in a tense penalty shootout after a goalless stalemate.
As the two meet this season, a lot has changed with Onduparaka and the Jogoos now enjoying topflight status. SC Villa will be desperate not only to end the hosts’ unbeaten home run but also keep leaders KCCA in pursuit.
They did travel minus team skipper Mike Sserumagga and attacking midfielder Martin Kizza among others and are still without defender Bernard Muwanga.
This means that Ambrose Kirya, Burundian Fuadi Ndayisenga and Ivorian Boue Bi Olivier will be tasked to unlock the hosts’ backline commanded by the towering Rashid Toha and Akram Kakembo.
Meanwhile, the hosts will again depend on the predatory instincts of skipper Muhammad Shaban whose three goals this season have all come at home.
Depending on the outcome from the Vipers – KCCA game, SC Villa have an opportunity to close gap on the log leaders while Onduparaka will equal the visitors’ points tally with maximum points.
