Uganda Cranes players will head to this week’s two international away fixtures with heads up at least for the morale.

On Saturday morning, the President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni offered Ug.shs 660 million to assist the the team in preparation for the two sets of matches.

Museveni confirmed the development to the FUFA President Moses Magogo after a telephone conversation.

The money offered by the President will assist in the preparation for the Togo and Ghana matches and also settle the 3 months’ salary arrears owed by the head coach, Milutin Sredejovic.

Magogo is quoted;

The President has requested me to deliver a message to the team and the Coaches that they should represent their country to the pride of Ugandans and he is fully behind us.

This is the umpteenth time that the president has salvaged the football federation at the last minute concerning the facilitation of Uganda Cranes away trips following previous bail-outs in the away games to Comoros, Togo, Zimbabwe and lately Botswana.

Uganda Cranes commenced training on Saturday and will once again regroup Sunday before the Monday departure to Lome.

Uganda will play Togo on Tuesday, 4th October 2016 before facing Ghana Black Stars in the opening Group E match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in Tamale scheduled for 7th October 2016.
