Less than a week after SC Villa got rid of Deo Sserwadda, Express are following suit by sacking Head Coach Alex Gitta.

This was after a heated meeting called by club chairperson Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi on Monday following series of results that have seen the Red Eagles win just once in the previous four games.

Kawowo Sports understands that Gitta and his assistant Wasswa Bbosa have never been on the same page this term despite working amicably together the previous campaign.

Gitta, a CAF ‘A’ coaching license holder had sworn not to sit on the bench with Bbosa who holds a CAF ‘C’ license but somehow, he ate his words.

On Monday, Nakiwala and other administrators at Wankulukuku met in a closed door meeting reached at a conclusion to sack Gitta.

Surprisingly, a source privy to the meeting reiterated to us that Bbosa was part of the meeting that ironically agreed to wield the axe on his boss.

But on Tuesday when Nakiwala and the members met Gitta, she failed to convince him why he had to go and like an angered person, stormed out of the heated meeting before it could end.

“She left us in disarray after failing to stand on her legs to sack Gitta,” a source that preferred anonymity revealed.

Meanwhile, Bbaale Mugera, one of the legendary leaders at the club is expected to meet Gitta for discussion on the way forward.

It’s anticipated that the meeting will centre around compensation as Gitta has now realised he isn’t a darling at the famous Mutesa II stadium.

Deogratius Bamweyana, one of the technical staff is also expected to leave just like the man who recommended him for the job.

In case all is resolved for him to go, he will become the fourth coach to leave a topflight club this season.

Already, Paddy Kintu (Lweza) and Charles Ayiekoh (Soana) plus Sserwadda (SC Villa) have tested the wrath.

Express have managed 12 points from a possible 24 this season and lie 6th on the 16 team log.
