In the wake of Uganda Cranes 1-0 loss to Togo on Tuesday evening at Stade De Kegue, the Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic has saluted the competitive spirit provided by Togo and the match itself that helped him further analyze the shape of the players, many of who have been dormant in their respective clubs.

Micho was addressing the media after Atakora Lalawele’s wonder goal from over 30 yards lifted the home side to their 5th victory against Uganda in 9 meetings.

I want to thank Togo as a nation, Togolese Football Federation, my dear colleague coach Claude Le Roy and all the players of Togo for providing the competition.

We played one good team but friendly match is different from main match. We had three strategic targets.

We succeeded in getting two of these targets. We want to improve what was wrong heading to Tamale.

Uganda Cranes rested first choice goalie Dennis Onyango with El Merriekh goalkeeper Salim Jamal starting ahead of KCCA bearded Benjamin Ochan.

The friendly was also watched by Ghana Black Stars head coach Avram Grant who wanted to use that opportunity to envisage the current shape of the Uganda Cranes team.

The team leaves Lome on Wednesday evening for Tamale via Accra.
