Kampala University (KU) head coach Vincent ‘Titi Camara Box-to-Box’ Tumusiime believes his charges have all it takes to win this year’s University Football League.

We are our own enemies. The players are determined and upbeat to register convincing results so that they win the championship.

KU is among the eight teams still in contention at the quarter final stage.

During their first leg last week away to Busitema University, Fibele Muyamana’s penalty and Abdallah Walusimbi scored the goals that won the game 2-1.

Ibrahim Orit had the consolation for Busitema University to create hope and a tense finish come the return leg that will be played on Wednesday, 19th October 2016 at Villa Park in Nsambya.

Tumusiime, fresh from a UEFA Grassroots Coaching Course in Slovenia asserts winners sacrifice a fortune;

You cannot win by accident. You work for it with all your efforts.

Successful teams world over sacrifice a fortune. You need talented players who love what they are doing and team work is also key.

Equally, individual and team training plays a significant role.

Elsewhere, Makerere University won the first quarter final 2-0 against nemesis side Kyambogo at Uganda Prisons ground in Luzira.

Joshua Lubwama scored a brace in the game that opened the second phase of the 6th season of the tourney played by university students not featuring in the Big league or top flight divisions.

The second quarter final between Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) and Uganda Christian University (UCU) ended in a one goal stalemate.

The Gulu and Nkumba University encounter ended goal-less in Gulu Municipality.

Last edition’s winners, MUBS were eliminated at the group stages.
