After announcing his intentions to retire from rallying at the end of the year, Kenyan-based driver Rajbir Rai could have his final drive in Uganda.

The Ford Fiesta R5 driver is expected to compete in the Uganda season ending Jinja rally.

“I am planning to race in Uganda before I retire. I am most likely to cross over for their last event in Jinja next month,” he told Kawowo Sports.

Once the decision is made, Rai will have embarked on his second race in Uganda after the 2014 Pearl of Africa rally which he won.

Uganda is like a second home to Rai.  His family owns a sugar business in the country.

Rai has made himself a brand name in the Kenya National Rally Championship considering his improved pace as well as owning one of the finest rally cars in the country.

Meanwhile, Rai finished third in the just concluded sixth round of KNRC that was won by Tapio Laukannen.
