Kirinya Jinja SS 1-1 KCCA
KCCA manager Mike Mutebi named three centre forwards in his team but could only leave with a point after a frustrating 1-1 draw away to Kirinya Jinja SS.
Joseph Ochaya gave the champions a lead after 20 minutes but it took just three minutes for the hosts under the stewardship of Alex Isabirye to level matters through John Walakaita.
The champions went into the game as clear favourites against a side that had drawn six and won none in 8 games but struggled with Robert Ssentongo and Geoffrey Sserunkuma kept at bay.
Ochaya volleyed home Muzamiru Mutyaba’s effort from a free kick while Walakaita scored from 12 yards after Isaac Kirabira handled in the area.
At the end of the day, it was another winless game for Mike Mutebi’s charges who have now gone two successive games without victory after the loss to Vipers before the international break.
Despite the draw, KCCA remain top of the log with 19 points, four better than second placed and third placed SC Villa and Vipers who have played a game less.
But the game ended in chaos as a KCCA fan identified as Hamid Mpataguli beat up centre referee William Oloya after the final whistle condemning him for ruling out Derrick Nsibambi would be late winner.
