City Oilers point guard Ben Komakech played the second half of the 2013 National Basketball League season one leg.

Early last year, the former Power star underwent a knee surgery in Nairobi that kept him out for well over five months.

He made a return to the game but not fully having suffered a set back despite showing up in the last couple of games in the playoff finals against UCU Canons that Oilers won 4-3.

The silky but slow guard was handed minutes by coach Mandy Juruni as this year’s Zone V Club Championships approached.

The five-time local league champion called the plays as City Oilers claimed the regional title with outright dominance.

Komakech says the process of coming back has not been easy and it’s not complete. “It hasn’t been ‘just coming back’, it’s been hard getting back and I am still in the process of making everything click,” he told Kawowo Sports.

“My Zone 5 performance was a good indicator that am on the right track,” the former MVP added.

Koma who says his side deservedly qualified for the Continental Club Championships adds that he can only get better.

“We were well prepared. Zone 5 had been in our heads since this year started.

“I always feel I can play better every time I play. That said I was happy with my performance.”
