Lebanese reigning league champions Al Ahed Beirut lost 3-2 to Iraq’s Al Quwa Al Jawiya in the Asian AFC game at the Camille Chamoun Sports City stadium in Beirut on Tuesday afternoon.

Twice, Al Ahed Beirut lost the lead before succumbing to a late winner at their own grave yard.

Nour Mansour opened the day with a well converted penalty in the 14th minute of the game.

Humam Tariq equalized for the visitors two minutes to the half hour mark.

Five minutes later, Hassan Chaito restored the goal advantage of the home team as they led 2-1 heading to the locker rooms.

Mansour converted into his own net for Al Ouwa Al Jawiya’s equalizer before Bashar Rasan Bonyan found the match winner with 12 minutes to the death of the match for a 3-4 aggregate scoreline.

Uganda Cranes international, Dennis Iguma featured in the match.
