Sadolin Paints 1-1 Proline
Proline Football Club picked their eighth draw of the season since being promoted to the top flight division in the 1-1 affair with Sadolin Paints at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe, Jinja on a sunny Tuesday evening.
Norman Ogik scored the match opener fourteen minutes to full time but Proline’s towering defender Savio Kabugo quickly replied two minutes later with a flying header past goalie Franco Oringa.
The opening 45 minutes of the game had produced no goal despite being decimated with lost of action packed spells.
As early as the third minute, Sadolin Paints’ lanky striker Norman Ogik had the first opportunity on the day with a hurried shot off target following a great wall pass with Fred Kyambadde.
A minute to the quarter hour mark, Kyambadde missed contact with the ball after a great laid ball from the right by Robert Achema.
Four minutes later, Fahad Bayo had the first attempt at the home team’s goal with a shot off target.
Franco Oringa, in Sadolin Paints’ gave the fans something to cheer about when he dribbled past Proline skipper Mbaziira and reached almost the half way mark.
Proline’s best moment on the evening was when defender Desmond Kyobe blind-passed in the path of pacy forward Edrisa Lubega.
The next 45 minutes of the game handled by FIFA Referee Dennis Batte witnessed either sides opening up.
First, Lubega beat Kyobe for pace but his low drive was well tamed by Oringa for a fruit-less corner.
The home side’s technical bench called for the first two changes of the game. Lanky midfielder Allan Oryek replaced a largely ineffective Robert Achema and Nasser Sserwadda came on for a wasteful Fred Kyambadde.
Oryek commenced business immediately with good possession of the ball and was credited for that defense-splitter that found an unmarked Ogik who fired past the advancing Keni Saidi in Proline goal.
Almost sixty seconds later, Proline was celebrating a goal of their own.
Kabugo out jumped Oringa and the entire defence to connect home Simon Namwanja’s dead ball from the left.
Three minutes later, Safi Basani was introduced for Nasser Muzamiru in the home side’s last change of the day.
Proline head coach Mujib Kasule made three changes in the last 10 minutes of the game.
First in the frey was striker Nelson Senkatuka for Aziz Bayo in the 80th minute. Two minutes later, left winger Farooq Musisi, who was acquired from Lweza replaced team captain, Simon Mbaziira as Gift Ali took over the captaincy role.
Former URA midfielder Saidi Kyeyune was the final change for the visitors as he replaced the hard working Sam ‘Tiyo’ Kintu.
Two players, Kabugo and Desmond Kyobe were cautioned by referee Batte for unsporting conduct.
This is Proline’s 8th draw of the season, only good enough to see them jump Lweza and settle in the 9th position on the 16 team log.
Sadolin Paints adds up a point to 10 but remains stagnated at 12th position.
