Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) remains committed with the paper work and practical initiatives of developing football from the grass roots.

On Wednesday, in a bid to support the Busoga Masaza football tournament, FUFA donated 40 quality playing balls to the Kingdom.

FUFA President Moses Magago handed over the equipment to Busoga Kingdom Sports Minister Owek Amin Bbosa, who was accompanied by veteran sports administrator, Issa Magoola, who is also the tournament local organizing committee chairperson.

The package comes in timely ahead of the long awaited Busoga Masaza cup final which will be played on the 29th October 2016 .

Acknowledging the offer, Magoola lauded FUFA in the steps to build football from the grass-roots and the sense of direction by offering the guidelines;

I thank FUFA for this kind gesture.

We are going to give these balls to the teams right away such that they embark on preparations for next year’s competition.

FUFA guided us when we were still in the planning stages of this competition.

They have also supported us by giving us registered referees who have officiated our games adding substance to the competition. This moment by the FUFA President has crowned it all. We pray that this working relationship continues.

The offer to Busoga is a vivid manifestation that FUFA is keen to see traditional kingdoms play football competitions.

Buganda Kingdom was the first beneficiary from the generous hand of FUFA in May 2016.

During this year’s Busoga Masaza final, Bunya county will play Bukooli at the Kyabazinga stadium in Bugembe town.

His Majesty the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Wilberforce Nadiope Gabula IV has duly confirmed to grace the match

Earlier on the  the same day for the final, Buzaaya will take on Kigulu in the 3rd place playoff.

Meanwhile, the Busoga Kingdom also received  an assortment of sports gear from the City Renown Katumwa Sports Center.
