National Pool Championship 2016:

Quarter-finals results

  • Fahad Ssewankambo 5-4 Oscar Ocakacon
  • Dan Mubiru 3-5 Fred Namanya
  • Sula Matovu 5-2 Jimmy Okello
  • Alfred Gumikiriza 3-5 Nsubuga Humphrey

Right from the very first game of the 2016 National Pool Championship when Fred Bonde Namanya eliminated the dread locked Amos Ndyagumanawe, surprises continued to rock the event at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Last year’s losing finalist Alfred ‘Black Sheep’ Gumikiriza was eliminated at the quarter final stage by Humprey Nsubuga 3-5.

2013 champion Fahad Ssewankambo gritted his teeth to overcome the Uganda Pool Cranes captain, Oscar Ocakacon 5-4 having led 4-1 at some stage.

Ssewankambo had earlier edged Gulu’s prodigal son Emma Ocitti and Issa Tuzinda at the rounds of 32 and 16 stages respectively.

Jimmy Okello shocked Simon Lubulwa at the round of 16 with a 4-1 thumping.

An unknown entity, Mansoor Bwanika ejected Jonan Turigye at the round of 32 level after winning 3-2.

Namanya will play Nsubuga at the last four stage and Ssewankambo take on Sula Matovu.

A brand new car awaits the winner.
