Since joining A1 Challenge at the start of the season, forward, Susan Amito had not played at the level she did while at KIU Rangers.
On Friday evening, Amito showed out as A1 Challenge beat Javon Ladies 61-40 in first game of this season’s playoffs at YMCA.
Despite having a strong start to the game that saw them take the first quarter 18-11, the 2005 champions endured a rough second quarter before recovering in second half to see off Javon, a that defeated them in the third meeting of the regular season.
Amito dominated the paint and went for 25 points connecting 12 of 17 shots from the floor and picked 8 rebounds.
“She (Amito) did well today and I think she can only get better. We want to be better in the next round,” A1 skipper Vickie Ntale who contributed 8 points said after the game.
Rodah Nagiita scored team high 16 points for Javon while Ruth Atuhairwe had 10 points.
