Uganda Premier League: Proline 1-2 Soana (Half-Time)

Soana Football club leads Proline 2-1 by the close of business of the opening 45 minutes in the Uganda Premier league on a slippery Phillip Omondi astro turf in Lugogo, Kampala.

In a match whose first 20 minutes were played under rainy conditions, Fahad Aziz Bayo headed the home side ahead in the 26th minute off a telling delivery from left back Simon Namwanja.

The joy was however short lived – thanks to the craftiness of the diminutive winger Allan Kayiwa.

Kayiwa dribbled past a forest of legs before latching a low drive for the equalizer two minutes to the half hour mark.

Soana suffered a set back in the 34th minute when team skipper Timothy Musinguzi was stretched off with an injury.

In came, Samuel Oguttu who assumed the captaincy role as well.

As the two sides looked destined for the locker-rooms all square, a well stationed Frank Kalanda diverted with the left foot a high cross from Kayiwa down the left for the lead.

There are 45 minutes to come that will definitely decide the final tide and destiny of the match being watched by a partisan crowd including Uganda Cranes’ head coach, Milutin Sredejovic.
