2016 Busoga Kingdom Football:
- Final: Bukholi 3-1 Bunha
- Third place playoff: Kigulu 1-0 Buzaya
It was a historic and momentous day in the rich history of the Busoga Kingdom when the inaugural Masaza Football Tournament which attracted 14 counties climaxed on Saturday, 29th October at Kyabazinga Stadium in populous Bugembe township of Jinja.
Bukooli are the first winners of the tournament whose grand finale was graced by the Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Royal Highness Gabula Wilberforce Nadiope IV amidst an enviable passionate crowd.

Ronald Batawaire, Dennis Balyeku and another Dennis entity in Bazibu were on target for Bukholi county.
Emma Waisawa got the consolation for Bunha, a strike that also acted to spice up the final scoreline on the red letter day that also attracted personalities from the central government, Busoga kingdom, Federation of Uganda Football Associations led by Moses Magogo, Ex-Internationals Football Association among other dignitaries attended the well-organized finals.
Kigulu pipped a ten man Buzaya 1-0 in the third place play off final to take home the bronze medals.

Individual accolades:
Cosia Waiswa of Bunha was the top scorer with four goals, Ronald Obere, another Bunha product took home the MVP accolade and Herman Mudyadya of Buzaya was the best goalkeeper in the three months’ tournament.
Meanwhile, Siraje Bogere of the champions Bukooli was awarded as the best manager.
Kingdom Sports minister, Amin Bbosa Nkono with a beaming smile flashing across his face appreciated all the stake holders and vowed to keep the ‘steam’ alight for the rest of the subsequent editions.
In a special way, I want to thank all people who have worked tooth and nail to make this tournament a complete success.
His Majesty the Kyabazinga blessed the tournament from the word go and he obviously takes the biggest praise.
