General Da’uud Cup 2016:
Final (Sunday, 30th October)
Banadir Vs Jeenyo – Mogadishu National Stadium
It is always a clash of the titans every time Banadir and Jeenyo Football Club lock horns in the Somalia ‘El-Classico’ version.
The reigning league champions play Jeenyo at the Mogadishu national stadium on Sunday evening in the General Da’uud cup.
Coached by the bearded Hussein Mbalangu, the Ugandan CAF ‘A’ certified tactician who led the side to their first league crown in over 15 years targets a double.
He shares his match day thoughts with Kawowo Sports;
Realistically, we are eager as a team to win the double (League and FA Cup) this season.
This is the basic reason every squads-man has had to put the best effort.
Banadir lost the first game in the group stages, ironically to Jeenyo.
Since that set back, they recovered superbly to win the subsequent matches that included a 5-0 quarter final triumph against Midnimo.
Former Express and Kyengera Happy Boys towering midfielder Imamu Kinene scored hat-trick with the other goals coming from team captain Amiin Dadir and Maxwell Mustafah, a Nigerian goal scoring machine.
In the semi-finals they edged Heegan 2-0 to book yet another date with Jeenyo.
