Soana head coach, Sam Ssimbwa has insisted he wants more from his artful youngster Allan Kayiwa, despite the winger’s fine start to the new campaign.

The 19 year old who came off the bench to salvage a point for his side against Lweza last week produced another man of the match performance in his team’s 2-1 victory at Proline on Friday, scoring one goal and setting up Frank Kalanda for the winner as Soana registered their fifth win of the season.

While he acknowledges Kayiwa’s undeniable talent and fine form, Ssimbwa feels the winger still needs to improve and better his numbers.

“Kayiwa is a very talented player, one who can trouble any kind of defence, but he is not playing to his full potential currently. He likes to run at opponents and dribble which is very good but I feel he should be doing more than that. As a number seven, he should be crossing more often than he is now. I believe there is room for improvement and I know he is capable of improving.”

The wily winger has been a contributory figure at the Kavumba based club since the start of the season.

To his name thus far, Kayiwa has two goals and four assists.

Against Lweza, he came on as a second half substitute to ensure Soana maintain their unbeaten run at home with his 49th minute goal.

Soana return to Kavumba for a league date with Sadolin Paints on Tuesday.
