Long serving Express coach Wasswa Bbosa has resigned his job moments after his drew 1-1 with URA at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

Bbosa made his resignation public in a post-match briefing in which Herman Wasswa scored midway the second half to cancel out a first half strike from Labama Bokota Kamana.

“From today onwards, am no longer Express coach,” he stated. “It’s been a pleasure working for the club I served with passion but this is the right time to leave,” he added.

When pressed to reveal the reasons behind his resignation, the former Express defensive midfielder remained reticent.

There are lots of things that I can’t mention. But all I can say is there is a problem I couldn’t withstand so I had to leave.

The tactician throws in the towel less than 24 hours after reports emerged that his boss, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi had issued an ultimatum that demanded he wins against URA or he gets sack.

The six-time champions have only won three times this season and are winless in their previous six games in succession since beating Vipers 1-0 in September.

They sit 7th on the log with 15 points, a whopping 13 behind log leaders KCCA.

He becomes the second coach to leave the Wankulukuku side after Alex Gitta was asked to step aside by the club management following a string of poor strings.

But since he left, the side hasn’t picked maximum points losing twice and drawing as many.

Bbosa played for the side in the early 2000s and has been coach or at least part of the coaching staff since 2011.

He was the assistant to Sam Ssimbwa when Express won their last silverware – a league title in 2011-12.
