Kawempe Muslim Secondary School’s quest for a third National Women Football League title in a row started on a rather bright note following a convincing 7-0 victory over the London Stallions in Kawempe on Saturday.
The reigning FUFA Women Elite League champions scored through the league’s two time MVP Hasifah Nassuna, Juliet Nalukenge and Favour Nambatya, all of who each scored twice on the day.
Viola Namuddu was the other player on target for the dominant side.
In the other games played, Ajax Queens overcame Olila Ladies side 3-1 as the Wakiso Hills and Gafford Ladies encounter ended in a 1-1 draw.
Saturday’s games followed the official opening match that witnessed Ajax Queens pip Eastern Heroes 1-0 courtesy of Maureen Afoyo’s lone strike.
Meanwhile the league continues on Sunday with three games. FUFA President Moses Magogo’s Kampala Queens will be up against Mutesa Royal University, Buikwe She Red Stars host university side, UCU as She Corporates will play newly promoted Uganda Martyrs Rubaga.
