Uganda Cranes host Zambia Chipolopolo Stars in the two countries’ 37th meeting since 1964 in all competitions.

This will be during an international build up match that the two sides plan to test their respective squads ahead of their weekend 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The match shall be hosted at the 42,000 seater Nelson Mandela National stadium in Kampala on Tuesday.

The Uganda Cranes started training sessions last week on Tuesday with gym sessions at Paradise Fitness mall in Kampala.

A day later, the head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic named a 41 man squad with 22 foreign based players and 19 domestic players who ply their trade in the Azam Uganda Premier league.

Last Wednesday, the team had a warm up game winning 1-0 against KCCA with the strike coming from Erisa Ssekisambu.

On Saturday, the national side had a second practice game winning 6-1 against Kampala region select side.

Micho reduced his side by eight on Monday.  The players let go out of the camp included; KCCA skipper and right back Denis Okot Oola, URA central defender Richard Kassaga Jjuuko, Vipers’ trio of Halid Lwaliwa, Keziron Kizito, Erisa Ssekisambu, SC Villa winger Godfrey Lwesibawa, Soana’s Allan Kayiwa and the exciting URA midfielder Shafik Kagimu.

The side later conducted a last training session on Monday evening late after Zambia had used the ground.

The Chipolopolo Stars arrived on Sunday at mid-day from Harare via Addis Ababa.

In Zimbabwe, the Zambian side lost 1-0 in an earlier build up match played at the national stadium in Harare.

Tennage Hadebe scored the lone strike on the day, a glancing header in the 54th minute.

Head coach Wedson Nyirenda promises a better showing for the visitors.

I am grateful for Uganda for hosting us as we prepare for the Cameroon game. Uganda is a good side and they will give us a better showing

A few of the Zambian stars Reinford Kalaba and Sunzi will arrive by Tuesday morning.
