The winner of the 2017 Kampala IAAF World Cross Country Championships will walk away with $30,000 (105 million Uganda Shillings), the athletics body has revealed.
Kampala will be the fourth African city in the history of the IAAF World Cross Championships to host the tournament after Guiyang of China passed the baton in 2015.

For the winning team, the outfit receive $20,000, while the mixed relays winners will be destined for $12,000.
The IAAF revealed the prize money to invited federations a week ago in letters sent out by the IAAF Chief Executive Officer Olivier Gers.
Ugandan runners will be home for the competition.
The 2015 edition of the World Cross Country Championships closed out in Guiyang with the Uganda senior Women’s team getting crowned Bronze medalists.
