The chance was there yesterday for Sadolin Paints to rise to within a place of their set target this term but the Painters could not take it as they shared spoils with neighbors Bul at Bugembe Stadium.
Following Bright Stars’ humiliation at the hands of SC Villa on the same evening, Sadolin would have moved to seventh with victory over Bul, but their Jinja rivals were not in the mood to aid their sixth charge.
For the entire first half, Bul were superb causing plenty of problems going forward, and although they failed to send in a strike, they were clearly a better side and made their intentions clear.
Sadolin, conversely looked devoid of ideas.
Peter Kirumira, their head coach is convinced his side was overwhelmed by the home pressure.
He told Kawowo Sports; “We find it hard playing at home.
“The pressure from the fans always affects the team.
“They want quick goals and sometimes when that fails, pressure mounts on players and mistakes become unavoidable.”
Sadolin, were however, a different side in the last 45 minutes.
They completely took control of the game, and through Ronald Lukungu’s smashing free-kick in the 49th minute should have taken the lead had goalkeeper Paul Mujampwani been drowsy.
Our performance in the first half was not good but in the second half we did everything although we failed to score. I’m not entirely happy with our general performance but I’m contented with the result.
Kirumira said of his team’s display.
The draw was Sadolin’s sixth this season. It extended their unbeaten run to seven games, and took them to ninth with fifteen points, level with Bright Stars, Express and The Saints.
