Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards are hunting for the signature of Ugandan midfield maestro Steven ‘Nesta’ Mugisha, Kawowo Sports has learnt.
Following their catastrophic 2016 campaign that saw Belgian Ivan Minnaert relieved of his managerial duties two months ago, the side now coached by Briton Stewart Hall are restructuring ahead of the new campaign.
Hall who categorically made it clear he wants a young squad is looking at establishing a new-look Ingwe before the new season kicks off.
Among other players who are being courted by the Kenyan giants before 2017 business commences is Mugisha.
Formerly a utility player at Police FC, Mugisha, a 20-year-old is a central midfielder who can also be deployed behind a striker. He scored twice and assisted three times for the Cops last season in his ten appearances.
His midfield exploits attracted another Kenyan club, Muhoroni Youth last season, but his former club Police blocked the move which eventually hindered his move to KPL. His contract with the Ugandan side has however, expired since.
