Sadolin Paints head coach Peter Kirumira has come out to say league breaks are ‘very frustrating’ adding that they are ‘detrimental to clubs.’
His comments come after his side struggled against Bul on Tuesday in the Jinja derby at Bugembe Stadium.
Although they managed to up their game in the second half, Sadolin struggled to match their local rivals in the first stanza in their barren draw.
While he revealed his players “find it hard” playing in front of their home fans because of high pressure, Kirumira is convinced the league break had an effect on his team, and now with the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup coming up, the tactician couldn’t hide his feelings.
“It is very frustrating,” he told Kawowo Sports. “Getting the best out of these players during training when they know they don’t have a game is always hard.”
“We tend to lose focus and concentration once the league is off, and sometimes some players don’t even turn up for training which eventually leads to rustiness . These unending breaks are detrimental to clubs.”
Prior the international break, Sadolin beat Soana 2-1 at Kavumba Recreational ground with their lead striker Norman Ojik scoring the second goal, his third in a row.
The striker however, endured a tough time on Tuesday with an offside shot the closest he came to goal.
Sadolin return to league action on Saturday 3rd, December.
They sit ninth in the league with 15 points.
