After 7 weeks of intense training, Rugby Sevens head coach Tolbert Onyango named a 14-man squad to feature in the upcoming HSBC World Series in Dubai, Cape Town and Hong Kong.
Rugby Cranes assistant captain Michael Wokorach and new kid on the block Byron Oketayot are the new inclusions on the team that won the Africa Cup in Nairobi.
The team consists of 12 travelling players and will have two players who will not travel with the team but will be part of the training camps.
The two are Rugby Cranes prop Asuman Mugerwa and Fred Odur.
“We have seen a lot of improvements since the Africa Cup Nairobi and we are hoping for the best,” Onyango said before naming his team. “Its a good chance for us to test ourselves,” he added.
The team is slated to leave on November 28th for the Dubai Sevens from where they will connect to Cape Town.
The Dubai Sevens will take place on the weekend of 2nd-3rd December while the Cape Town tournament follows on the weekend of 10th-11th in South Africa.
The team will be captained by Eric Kasiita while Philip Wokorach will be his assistant.
