Dedebit 0-2 St George

St George football club maintained their 100% record in the Ethiopian elite league with a 2-0 result past Dedebit in Addis Ababa on Sunday evening.

Home to 3 Uganda Cranes stars (Isaac Isinde, Yassar Mugerwa and Robert Odongkara), St George scored through Mintesnot Adane and prodigal son, Adane Girma.

The victory is the second for the club in two games with no goal conceded yet.

Prior to kick off, there was a moment of silence as respect for the departed Hawassa City goal keeper Kibreab Dawit who died following a fire accident on Tuesday last week.

Elsewhere Adama City overcame Sidama Coffee 2-0, Dire-Dawa City won 2-1 against Ethio Electric and a 10 man Ethiopian Coffee side settled for a 2-2 draw with Defense.

Defense were granted the numerical advantage following a red card to Nigerian striker Samuel Sanumi in the 63rd minute.

Gatosh Panom ‘s penalty and a further strike by Cameroon goal machine William Yebune scored for Coffee as Michael Desta and Maraki Worku’s last gasp settled the game at 2 goals apiece.

Chriszestom Ntambi’s Jimma Aba Buuna forced a goal-less draw away to Addis Ababa City.

St George has won the championship a record 28 times.
