Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic has clearly underlined his targets, ambitions and aspirations while at the AFCON 2017 finals in Gabon.

One step at a time:

The Serb, who made history when he guided the Uganda Cranes to the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in over 38 years, believes it will be a one step at a time journey.

I am targeting first to score the first goal, get the first three points as we look towards the second and third matches in the group. Then, there is a quarter final slot which is a reality.

Preparations:

Several players playing within the country and a few foreign based players are set to start training this Wednesday.

The official provisional squad will be named by the head coach a week later on the 30th November 2016 during the FUFA Weekly press conference.

Uganda are set to feature in group D alongside Mali, Egypt and Ghana and will be based in the coastal town of Port Gentil.

Uganda Cranes opens up the campaign with the Ghana Black Stars on the 19th January 2016 in Port Gentil.

Then they will play Egypt on 23rd January 2016 at the same venue and finally Mali in the last group game at Oyam.
