2016 Pool Clubs Knockout:

Men: CKI 13-8 Scrap Yard

Women: Skin Samona beat Indigo

CKI won their first ever men Pool Clubs Knockout championship after humiliating Senior league table leaders Scrap Buyers in this year’s final at Lumas Club in Kampala.

The pharmaceutical club avenged their 15-10 senior league second round defeat to Scrap Buyers with a supremacy 13-8 thumping in the final.

On form National Open Champion Sula Matovu, William Mirembe, Meddie Kalanzi and Mansuur Muto all netted 3 blacks each to end Scrap Buyers’ hopes of a double this season.

CKI proved a power house in the championship beating favourites Hotpool in the Round of 16 before cruising into the semifinals with a 13-4 win against Rock Catalina.

2014 champions Skin Samona suffered a fascinating 13-9 loss to the eventual winners in the semi finals. Scrap Buyers had earlier on defeated Capital Night 13-4 in the other semifinal.

Skin Samona won the Ladies Championship with a convincing 5-3 win against league table leaders Hotpool club.

Ritah Nimusiime notched in the winner against Sharon Mirembe to give her side their first Clubs knockout championship in their life span.

Skin Samona emerged winners in the third place playoff match after overcoming Capital Night in the men’s category while Angella Busingye assisted CKI ladies with the winner against Indigo in the women’s third place playoff.

Focus now turns to the domestic league.
