Nigeria will not play Egypt as earlier planned in an international friendly match.

This was confirmed by the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick;

The proposed friendly against AFCON-bound Egypt will no longer be played in January 2017.

The root cause was the failure for Nigeria to fulfill conditions requested by Egypt.

Egypt had tasked the Super Eagles to present some of their top Europe-based professionals.

This failed to materialize as it will not be a FIFA-friendly window.

However, Pinnick is looking around for other friendlies for the Super Eagles.

Egypt was due to take on Nigeria in a friendly on January 9, 2017 in Dubai as part of their build-up to the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.

Also, Nigeria had demanded that Egypt meets the entire costs for the game.

Egypt is in the same group as Uganda, Mali and Ghana.
