Rwenzori group:

  • Masavu 2-1 Airtel Kitara
  • Mbarara City 1- 0 Synergy

Elgon Group:

  • Sporting United 1- 0 Doves All Stars
  • Kiira United 2-1 Simba
  • Kyambogo 2-5 Maroons

Rashid ‘Katoito’ Kato snatched the match winner for Masavu Football Club against Airtel Kitara during their Rwenzori Group FUFA Big League match played at the Katabi Gombolola play ground.

Kato, a former Aurum Roses player scored in the 4th minute of added time as Masavu maintained their winning momentum in the second tier league.

Masavu took the lead through Solomon Wafula, on loan from Proline Soccer Academy.

Airtel Kitara leveled through Dennis Monday before a capacity lively cheering  crowd at the roadside playing facility.

Masavu move to 23 points and comfortably lead the 12-team log.

Meanwhile, Mbarara City edged visiting Synergy 1-0 to keep pace with the leaders, Masavu.

Mbarara City, coached by Richard Makumbi and bankrolled by M.P Mwine Mpaka have 20 points.

In the Elgon group, Maroons destroyed home side Kyambogo 5-2, Kira United defeated Simba 2-1 and Lira’s Sporting United were 1-0 winners over Doves All Stars.

Three clubs will be promoted at the end of the season to the Uganda Premier league
