The last time KCCA FC and Proline met, the latter defeated the league defending champions in the Philip Omondi invitational tournament at Lugogo and for that, they deserve respect going into Saturday’s derby.
KCCA captain Denis Okot revealed that Proline should not be undermined in the Lugogo derby as they have the capability to harm them.
“We respect Proline but of course we don’t fear them,”Okot told the press at Philip Omondi stadium Friday morning.
The right back also revealed that the team’s activities during the long league break gives them the advantage going into their final home game of the first round.
“We have been very active during the break and everyone is in good shape to play the game,”
KCCA hosted newly crowned Kenya Premier League champions Tusker FC in an international friendly and have been the most active side during the break.
“The friendly with Tusker gave us a good test and we were able to gauge ourselves against a big side,” Okot noted.
Proline have not picked maximum points at the Philip Omondi stadium this season and lie 12th on the 16-team log.
Mujib Kasule’s side have gathered 12 points in as many games while their opponents to the log with 28 points.
