Two of the Uganda Premier League’s bottom three in the league guide meet at Kavumba Recreational ground on Saturday afternoon as Police host JMC Hippos.

The visitors have lost four of their last five games, while Police are still in the drop zone despite a pair of encouraging results.

After enduring a challenging start to the campaign that saw Sam Timbe quit his managerial post, Police finally look a side hungry for positive results, but it remains to be seen whether or not Timbe was the problem.

The Cops followed their devastating 3-0 loss to league leaders KCCA on 21st October with a somewhat good result, drawing 0-0 against an on form URA at a time at Mehta Stadium.

That draw was also followed by another brilliant result. A 1-0 win over Kirinya-Jinja SSS before the league break, and although the quality of opposition was in question, it is the result police needed to get the side going.

The win against the new comers was Police’s first at home having failed to register any in five attempts. It was also their second win this term having recorded their first against Sadolin Paints back in September.

Visitors JMC appear to be a club in crisis following their torrid league run so far that has seen them register nine league losses- the most of any club.

When the season kicked off, relegation was unthinkable for a side that had a decent finish last term but it is now a possibility as they’ve remained stuck at the bottom and failed to win a single game.

The fans will hope that things can’t get any worse than their last game when they slumped to a heavy 3-1 loss to local rivals Bul.

JMC are placed bottom of the table with three points, while Police sit two places above with eight more points.
