- Wasswa won the Uganda Cup with SC Villa
- He played one season at the club in which they finished second behind Vipers in the league

Hassan Wasswa has admitted he will be emotional when Vipers host SC Villa at Nakivubo in a highly anticipated league tie on Saturday at Nakivubo.
The midfielder was part of the Jogoos team that lost the title marginally to Vipers in 2014-15 campaign but helped the club lift the Uganda Cup after winning 3-0 against KCCA in a replayed final at Namboole.
The Ugandan international is expected to be named by Abdallah Mubiru on Saturday but he admits respect for the 16-time record league champions although he says his heart is now at Vipers and will be the side he wants to win.
“It’s not about not playing. I want to win but I respect the family at SC Villa,” he told a press briefing on Friday.
I respect them for turning me into the player I am today as they gave me chance to reinvent my career after a long time out.
Yes, I love SC Villa as a team, as family but as professional, I will give 100% to Vipers and after the game, then I can think about them (SC Villa) as a family.
Despite such reiterations, the midfielder cum defender says he is very happy at his new club.
It’s kind of an emotional game for me but this is a new job, new environment, new management as well.
Vipers come into the game on the back of a 1-0 loss to Onduparaka and Wasswa is fully aware that nothing short of maximum points will leave them jeopardy.
We know what we want as a club and the target is maximum points. We lost our previous game but we have rectified our mistakes. Having played at Villa, I know what they can offer but we are taking the game as a do or die clash.
Vipers are 3rd in the Uganda Premier League table with 20 points, four adrift of second placed SC Villa and eight below leaders KCCA.
