Tanzania Vs Uganda
The Uganda Sand Cranes on Wednesday night arrived safely in the coastal city of Dar es salaam in Tanzania.
The team endured a 1646 KM road journey that started at FUFA House in Kampala on Tuesday afternoon with stop overs at Nairobi and Eldoret.
The team had 10 players and 10 officials led by FUFA Beach soccer delegate, Anthony Tumwesigye and Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) chairman, Deo Mutabazi.
“We arrived well and the players are safe for the job on Friday” Mutabazi told Kawowo Sports.
They are expected to conduct a last training session on Thursday afternoon.
The players on the team:
Newly crowned Airtel – FUFA Beach Soccer player of the season, Roch Somoka is the team captain of the side that also has Meddie Kibirige and Micheal Kalule as goalkeepers.
The other players who left were Allan Katwe, Davis Kasujja, Ambrose Naturinda, Sulaiman Ochero, Emmanuel Kalyowa, Geofrey Akabwai and sharp shooter Swaibu Kakwaya.
Head coach Salim Muwonge will be assisted by Bashir Mutyaba in Friday’s international match against Tanzania.
