- Micho led Uganda Cranes to the finals of AFCON for the first time since 1978

Uganda Cranes Coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is among the nominees for the CAF Coach of the Year 2016.
Micho, who guided the Uganda Cranes to the finals of the Africa Nations Cup for the first time since 1978 will be battle for the top gong with DR Congo coach Florent Ibenge, Mamelodi Sundowns Pitso Mosimane and Mo Bejaia coach Nacer Sandjak.
In the same category, Florence Omagbemi, the coach of Nigeria’s women national team has also been shortlisted.
Ibenge guided DR Congo to the finals of AFCON 2017, just like Micho but won the 2016 CHAN tournament held in Rwanda.

Mosimane led South Africa’s club, Sundowns, home to Ugandan goalie Denis Onyango – nominee in the CAF of the Year based in Africa to the CAF Champions League and the side is currently representing the continent in Japan – FIFA World Club championship.
The duo is favourites to lift the gong with winners to be decided by votes from the CAF Technical & Development, Media Committees and a panel of 20 experts (Journalists, TV consultants).

The winners will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala scheduled for Thursday, January 5, 2017 in Abuja, Nigeria.
