Futsal Revamped Tourney: On Boxing Day (10 a.m – 4 p.m)
At Champions Futsal Arena, Busega – Kampala
As the year comes to a climax, the Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) plans to sign off in fashion.
The Association has confirmed a day long event at the Champions Futsal Arena in Busega, Kampala on Boxing day.
The event has been dubbed the “Futsal Revamped tournament”
According to the Chief Executive Officer of FAU, Hamza Jjunju, the event is aimed at promoting the game in Uganda as a Competitive and recreational Sport.
We have had quite a good year where we had the inaugural mini league.
Now, we have the Futsal Revamped Tourney coming up on Boxing Day in Busega at the Champions Futsal Arena between 10 a.m to 4 p.m
Confirmed Teams:
Sona Home of Sports, Seeta Galacticos Futsal Club, Sema Futsal Club, Brotherhood Futsal Club, Viga Futsal Club, Oldies Futsal Club and Bagimu Futsal Club are some of the duly confirmed teams.
Others shall be communicated during the course of the week.
Over the past weeks, the Association trained referees and this tournament will be used as a training platform ahead of future engagements.
The indoor game is fast sprouting in popularity across the country with more corporate entities fully embracing the sport that is deemed cost effective and simple to play.
Good enough, this very year during the annual FUFA Ordinary Assembly, the Fustal Association of Uganda was incorporated and now fully blessed by the country’s top governing body in the country.
To the world’s body FIFA, Futsal and Beach Soccer remain two football products following the FIFA World Cup with the most generating revenue turn over.
