The first three days of vigorous training (involving three sessions per day) for the Uganda Cranes players have left quite adverse effects onto the players.

From fatigue effects, leg sores, bruises, general body weariness to strained muscles, the players must be feeling the itch.

On the opening day, Tusker left back Shafiq Batambuze was excused from the mid-morning session at Bukoto before resuming training a day later.

Swedish based towering defender Brian Ronald Mukiibi Ddungu rested out on Wednesday and midfielder Tonny Mawejje needed urgent medical care to dress up the wounds suffered on his right leg shins.

On Wednesday, Mukiibi participated in the early morning gym drills at Paradise Fitnes gym but was rested in the mid-morning session at Kabira Country club and later in the evening at IUIU campus, Kabojja.

Head coach Milutin Sredojevic asserts Mukiibi’s rest was a precaution following a heavy knock in training that strained his hamstring.

Micho confirmed the development to Kawowo Sports after training on Wednesday;

He will be okay. It is just a precautionary rest after a knock on Tuesday. He will be able to train once again on Thursday.

The team enters day four of residential training on Thursday.

Still, like the previous training days, the players will be engaged in three sessions.

Micho is expected to trim the squad on Friday evening.
