Well aware of the demands and huge expectations when they finally join the rest of the Uganda national team members, two St George Football Club players have intensified their private training arrangements.

Towering goalkeeper Robert Odongkara and midfielder Yassar Mugerwa buy special time off the club’s official training routine to engage in special aerobic and body toning work outs in a bid to maintain high levels of fitness.

Mugerwa, who has just joined the Ethiopian record league winners from South African giants Orlando Pirates attests there is need for such a private arrangement;

When the club trains in the morning, we do the private training in the evening and vice versa. There is no time and we need to keep fully fit.

The two Ugandans are ‘club darlings’ to the majority of loyal club fans in the capital, Addis Ababa and its suburbs for their outright committed and spirited display.

In fact, Odongkara has been voted the best goalkeeper at the club and in the league for the previous five consecutive years.

Both Odongkara and Mugerwa will join the rest of the Uganda Cranes players after January 1st 2016 when the Addis Ababa derby.
