Rayon Sports 4-1 Musanze
Forward Shassir Nahimana inspired Rayon Sports with a well taken hat-trick in their 4-1 victory against Musanze at the Kigali Regional Stadium, Nyamirambo on Christmas eve.
The convincing victory was good enough for Rayon Sports to head aloft of the Premier League table standings on 26 points, two better of APR.
Nahimana scored the first after just eight minutes off a glancing header that followed a well taken free kick from Moustapha Nsengiyumva.
Nsengiyumva got the second a minute to the opening quarter hour mark.
Francois Hakizimana pulled a goal back for the visitors through a free-kick as both sides returned to the locker-rooms with Rayon having a slim 2-1 lead.
Nahimana netted his second on the day, Rayon Sports’ third in the 58th minute before completing his hat-trick seven minutes from full time.
Meanwhile, Sunrise held Kiyovu to a 1-1 draw at the Mumena stadium.
Marines won 2-1 at their Umuganda home in Rubavu against Kirehe Fc.
At the Kicukiro stadium, AS Kigali, home to Ugandan goalie Shamiru Batte got three points and goals apiece on a silver plate after Pepiniere FC failed to honour the game.
Pepiniere was protesting FERWAFA’s decision to change their match venue after Ruyenzi field was deemed unfit to host any more league matches until their club management implement the works that need to be done at that field as demanded by the Adhoc committee in charge of approving match venues.
