Uganda Cranes and Standard Liege midfielder Faruku Miya arrived in the country on Wednesday night ahead of the national team duty for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
The Belgium based player traveled aboard Brussels Airlines and set foot at Entebbe International Airport at 10 p.m.
He was driven to the team base at Serene Suites Hotel in Mutundwe.
After a torrid season especially with the country, Miya is expected to start training on Thursday evening.

He is best remembered for the winning goal for Uganda Cranes against Comoros on the 4th September 2016 at Namboole, a result that propelled Uganda back to AFCON after over 39 years of waiting.
Miya also scored the match winner months later against Congo Brazzaville in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“Miya has been granted some rest after hours of traveling but he will start training with the other players” Hamza Nsereko, the team’s media officer stated.
At per the present situation, five players on the original list summoned remain to join the team.
Rio Ave’s William Luwagga Kizito, St George duo of Yassar Mugerwa and Robert Odongkara as well as Geofrey ‘Baba’ Kizito and Moses Oloya are yet to join camp.
In case the team travels to the Tunisia training camps, these five players will join the rest in Tunis City.
