The Uganda Cranes team that traveled from Entebbe International Airport from Friday evening will wait until Sunday morning to reach the final destination, Tunisia.

This is after a day’s delay in Dubai following unsafe weather conditions.

The delegation left Entebbe on Friday night 8 pm aboard Ethiopian Airlines with the initial flight schedule planned with a stop over in Dubai before connecting to Tunisia on Saturday morning.

According to a statement  on the official FUFA website, the team will now reach Sunday morning.

Clearance was granted to the flight crew to finally fly to Dubai but this came with challenges on many connections including the one that would have taken the Ugandan team on time to Tunis.

The new year 2017 will find the team at the Emirates Business Lounge in Dubai before flying out on Sunday to Tunis where they are expected to arrive by 7:15 a.m on the 1st January 2017.

Uganda Cranes is scheduled to play friendly matches against Tunisia, Slovakia and Ivory Coast before flying to Gabon for the Total AFCON Finals 2017.

Uganda will be based in group D with Ghana, Egypt and Mali
