Uganda Cranes will start and end the hunt for a slot at the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 with away fixtures.

The Cranes were drawn in a relatively easy but tricky group alongside neighbours Tanzania, Cape Verde and Lesotho at the draw held in Gabon on Thursday.

Cape Verde will host Uganda in the first match between June 15-13 this year while the Taifa Stars will be at home to the Cranes in the last fixture between November 5-11, 2018.

Uganda’s first home game will come against Tanzania in March next year tentatively on dates between 19-27 before back to back matches against Lesotho in September with Uganda hosting the first between 3-11 and also fly to Lesotho within that period.

Of the four countries in the group, only Uganda will be playing at AFCON 2017 in Gabon and thus have a chance to make it back to back appearances at the finals after going 39 years without qualifying.
