Danish Superliga club SønderjyskE has terminated the employment contract of Uganda Cranes striker Emmanuel Arnold Okwi by mutual consent.
Both parties agreed to terminate the cooperation for the betterment of the player and the club.
Okwi has not received much playing time since joining the club two years ago.
According to a statement on the official club website, the club sports manager Hans Jørgen Haysen was quoted;
Okwi has not received much playing time with us, and the prospect of more playing time has not improved.
We have therefore by mutual agreement agreed to separate our ways.
I wish him well in the future.
Okwi played four games in Alka Super League for SønderjyskE and so it was also for two matches in DBU Cup, where he scored a miserable two goals.
He was part of the Uganda Cranes team that helped the side break the 39 years jinx to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Uganda Cranes striker has previously featured for Tunisian side, Etoile Du Sahel; Tanzanian giants, Simba SC and Yanga FC and has also played for SC Villa in Uganda.
Simba is reportedly interested in his services.
