Tunisia 2-1 Algeria

Pre-tournament favourites are on the verge of exiting the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations following a 2-1 loss to neighbours Tunisia in Franceville.
An own goal by Aïssa Mandi and a well taken strike from Naim Sliti saw The Carthage Eagles collect their first points of the competition to move to second on the group C table.
Tunisia came into the game on the back of a disappointing 2-0 loss to Tunisia on Sunday and were aware that nothing short of at least a point would end their stay in Gabon with a game in hand.
The Algerians pulled one back through Sofiane Hanni in the closing stages of the game but it was too late to make a comeback.
Victory take Tunisia to three points in second place on the table, 3 points below leaders Senegal while Algeria are third with a single point just as fourth placed Zimbabwe.
Algeria face Senegal next week, while Tunisia play their final group game against Zimbabwe.
For Algeria to reach the last eight, they must beat already qualified Senegal by a good margin and hope Tunisia doesn’t win against the Warriors.
