Ahead of the clash between Uganda and Ghana in a group D match of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday, Egypt defender has warned teammates against underestimating the Cranes.

The Hull FC wingback who was an unused substitute in the 0-0 stalemate with Mali on Tuesday said there are no longer weak teams in the competition.

“No weak teams at this Nations Cup,” Elmohamady told a TV program on Thursday.

The defender has given the example of Uganda’s second half performance against Ghana as a lesson to pick by The Pharaohs if they are going to beat the 1978 finalists.

Uganda’s game will be tough. They produced a fine performance against Ghana.”

Nevertheless, the 29 year old star says they were also impressive in the draw with Mali and the coach pointed out all mistakes they had made that will be avoided against Uganda insisting they can afford a return after a disappointing draw.

We made a fine performance against Mali. After the game coach Cuper met with the players and he explained all mistakes to avoid in Uganda’s clash. We are well prepared for Saturday’s clash and we are ready for win.

Like Uganda, Egypt need a decent result on Saturday to remain in contention for a place in the last eight.
