Newly elected Director Development, Robinah Olga Namwanje believes the new Executive at the Uganda Chess Federation (UCF) ‘will be easy to work with’ compared to the old administration.

The new UCF Executive Committee was elected into office on Sunday, with Emmanuel Mwaka voted President, while Isaac Otim came as his Vice.

Currently serving as the treasurer, Namwanje was elected as Director Development unopposed, making her the only member from the old regime to return.

“It is a young group,” Namwanje told this website.

“They are exciting and to me they look like people who are willing to listen, learn and do things on a round table unlike the old committee that only had selected individuals make decisions.

“As leaders, things always run smoothly and faster when every concerned member is in the loop and consulted.

“This team might not have the experience, but it promises to be a group that works together as a team.

“I think it will be easy to work with them. We all want the best for this federation and the game of Chess at large.”

Led by Mwaka and Otim, the new Executive has Henry Ategeka and Isaac Munanira as its General Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Jordan Teeba (Director Technical), David Muwanguzi (Publicity Secretary) and Joachim Okoth (Coach) complete the Executive.
