FUFA Big League:
- Entebbe 0-2 Mbarara City (Rwenzori Group)
- Maroons 0-0 Paidha Black Angels (Elgon Group)

Mbarara City Football club kick-started the second round of the FUFA Big League in fashion with a 2-0 win over Entebbe F.C at the Fisheries Training Institute in Bugonga, Entebbe.
A goal in each half from the usual suspects Brian Kansiime and Farouk Samari ensured that the club bankrolled by Western Uganda Youth Member of Parliament and sports philantropist Mwine Mpaka returned to their Mbarara base with maximum points.
Mpaka who watched the game was left impressed by the quality of football exhibited by his charges.
Mbarara City had skipped their Uganda Cup trip to Entebbe where they were supposed to play Masavu.
For Entebbe F.C, this was the second successive loss at home having lost a tense penalty shoot out 5-4 to lowly regional side, Igombe from Iganga in the Uganda Cup a week earlier.
The victory was good enough for Mbarara City to leapfrog rivals Nyamityobora and also close gap on leaders, Masavu.
Mbarara City, coached by the vastly traveled Richard Makumbi now has 25 points, two short of Masavu, although they have played a game more than the Entebbe side.
The second round of the FUFA Big League resumed last Thursday. Maroons played to a goalless draw with Paidha Black Angels at the Luzira prisons stadium to accumulate 26 points, four better than second place Ndejje University.
More games will come up this week according to the fixtures released by the FUFA competitions department headed by Ali Mwebe.
Only three clubs will be promoted to the Uganda Premier League by the close of the season in May 2017.
